CONFUCIUS CLASSROOM AT CADET COLLEGE PETARO SUCCESSFULLY HOSTED THE 4TH CHINESE TALENT SHOW & CELEBRATION OF CHINESE NEW YEAR GALA 2026

The Confucius Classroom at Cadet College Petaro successfully organized the 4th Chinese Talent Show & Chinese New Year Gala 2026 at Sir Syed Hall, attended by over 1,000 cadets, Commandant & Principal Commodore Faisal Iqbal Qazi SI(M) as Chief Guest, Vice Principals, faculty, and Chinese Director Prof. Shao Yin online, with Distinguished Guests of Honor including Prof. Muhammad Yousuf Khan (Regional Director of Colleges, Hyderabad Region), Prof. Aftab Ahmed Rajput (Regional Director HR & Director of Colleges, Hyderabad Region), Col. (Retd) Muhammad Nawaz (Regional Director, NUML University Hyderabad Campus), Mr. Arif Ali Jalbani (Director ORIC, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology), Mr. Muhammad Tariq (Admin & Security Head, Educational Hawks International School Karachi), and Mr. Azeem (Head, Academy of Modern Languages).

A total of 26 delegates from seven institutions Cadet College Petaro, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, NUML University Hyderabad Campus, Institute of Career Education, Academy of Modern Languages, Public School Hyderabad, and Hiast School competed in Chinese boxing, martial arts, calligraphy, paper cutting, singing, speeches, and traditional arts. Cadet Shahid Khan (Kit No. 23190-J) won First Position in Chinese boxing, and Syed Ghazali secured First Position for his Naat performance in Chinese.

Prof. Shao Yin, Chinese Director of Confucius Classroom at CCP highlighted the Spring Festival’s cultural significance and extended New Year wishes. Cadet Muhammad Furqan (Kit No. 21005-IQ) shared his experience from the Global Finale of the 18th Chinese Bridge Competition, inspiring teamwork and cultural exchange. Musical performances, including the Chinese national anthem, Chinese New Year, and teachers’ quiz added vibrancy.

Awards recognized excellence: Ex-Cadet Farhan Ali Khan received the Outstanding Student Scholarship from Sichuan University; Mr. Shahzaib earned the Outstanding Councilor Award; Cadet Muhammad Furqan won the Outstanding Student Award under mentorship of Mr. Muhammad Junaid, who received the Excellent Instructor Award; and Mr. Akhtiar Ali was awarded a certificate of appreciation and cash prize for his contribution to the outstanding HSK-3 Level performance of ORIC MUET students.

Mr. Abdul Waheed Memon, Chinese Head Teacher and Coordinator, earned the “Best Teacher Award 2025” for mentoring cadets, organizing events, encouraging students to participate at internal, external, and international levels, and training Assist Prof. Adeel Yar Khan and Assist Prof. Falak Shaikh to successfully clear the HSK examination; he also facilitated MoUs and guided Cadet Abdul Basit Shaikh (Kit No. 23001-J) to be internationally conferred the title of “Junior Cultural Ambassador 2025” in China, while he received the “Excellent Mentor Award”, contributing to the Confucius Classroom’s recognition as “Excellent Organization Award 2025”.

After the awards, a cake-cutting ceremony marked Chinese New Year 2026, symbolizing unity and celebration. The Worthy Chief Guest praised the event’s success, highlighting students’ skills, creativity, teamwork, and the promotion of China–Pakistan cultural and educational ties.
